This confidential Am Law 20 firm engaged Lumen to manage the relocation of 27 floors into its new headquarters, executed over six highly coordinated move weekends.

The Challenge

The firm maintains an exceptionally high standard of service for its attorneys and employees and expected the relocation experience to reflect that same standard.

Across 27 floors, move requirements extended to the individual office level—including documenting personal contents and ensuring items were placed precisely in their intended staging locations. The entire relocation also needed to occur within six weekends to minimize disruption and the time both offices remained operational.

Our Approach

Lumen developed a floor-by-floor, office-by-office move plan addressing sequencing, contents, destinations, and individual requirements. Working closely with the firm, movers, change management team, contractor, and other consultants, Lumen coordinated each weekend from advance planning through final office setup—ensuring spaces were ready for employees when they returned.

The Outcome

The firm successfully relocated 27 floors over six weekends while maintaining business continuity and its exceptionally high standard of employee service.
